Bible Reference -" I would like to mention that for the entire twelve years that I was governor of Judah ...I accepted no salaries or other assistance from the people of Israel. This was quite a contrast to the former governors who had demanded food and wine and 40pounds a day in cash and had put the population at the mercy of their aides who tyrannized them; but I obeyed God and did not act that way". Neh 5:14-15 (The Living Bible).
Now that popular demand of the populace is that the cost of governance be reduced drastically, I recommend that all the Christians serving in the various tiers of government, beginning from the President and cutting through the NASS, State Governors, State Houses of Rep, Local Govt Areas, benchmark the exemplary model of Nehemiah while he served as governor of Judah during the reign of king Artaxerxes.
